Ignorance is not bliss

What will become of us- a question that has both invigorated and haunted our lives from the moment we are conscious of our consciousness. When we think of the effect of our thoughts turned actions, we realise that 'us' is not 'me' and rather a collective consciousness from bugs and bees to bears and breastfeeding mothers alike. What we do to the web of life, ultimately, we do to ourselves.
The web posted 'story of stuff' is a credit to our collective conscious care for our environment, as we all need to trudge through mud and guck in order to reach our enlightened self, much like the journey of the lotus flower. For example- the hairdressing industry has the highest infertility rate for working women. Why? It is evident that the chemicals used that are on par with bleach are responsible for the lack of conception. Why would a child want to enter this world after its mother has inhaled lung-burning chemicals affecting the childs right to a healthy first breath. How does a child have complete freedom to a healthy life if its host is not prepared for its arrival? This is the mud that the lotus flower unfortunately needs in order to blossom and provide a beauty for all to admire. I would like you all to listen and watch a 'you tube' a music video on a lighter note- 'TRINITY ROOTS- the little things'.

In terms of Environmental disaster- it is in our hands right now, though because we hold the responsiblity for change, we ARE in control of our future. Fair enough that mother nature can never be controlled yet only manipulated for a short period of time before we suffer a backlash. What we CAN control is our choices. We, the community, the family, the self, can accept the responsibility to be the change we want to see in the world; we can lead by example by living an environmentally responsible lifestyle.
If we do what is intuitively and ethically right, our actions become as natural as nature itself, and we wont need to think of all that is bad in the world- we can rather concentrate on the good that we can fill up all the dark spaces with! Its simple in the world of physics- we are light perceiving light. Let goodness fill us up and give back light to all that bears a spirit. WE are mirrors that reflect all that is- therefore what you see in others is merely a reflection of yourlself. So try to see the positives in our surroundings and work with that!

As sure as hail in Dunedin, we all fill up our vehicles (our bodies; our cars) with industrial produced items, in hope of a better way another day. Maybe tommorow there will be an answer to solve all the worlds problems. Maybe today there is an answer that needs our atttention, like a crying baby that needs a hug and it will only keep crying if you wait for tommorow. Maybe we can walk to Polytech today, or car pool with other like- minded individuals.

In the words of the legendary Australian Artist Paul Kelly, his cherished song 'from little things big things grow' provides a sigh of relief for us, to take a step out of the often chaotic circle of society, and to strengthen our own skills and 'right work' to work as an individual first towards the greater good. We cannot love our surroundings without love for ourselves. We can provide a healthier environment for future generations by providing a healthy environment for ourselves.
Create your own culture if need be. Start the process of change right where your heart, mind, body and spirit work in unison- in your self. Create a culture of care, of nurturing, of perceiving and giving light. Empower yourself. Become strong and stand tall like a tree, growing in awareness of all that is and affirming your beliefs, your culture, in your every day thoughts and actions.
From little things, big things grow. Plant your seeds where they can be cared for. You will reap what you sew.

LOVE AND LIGHT!!!
